Under the Dome NCLA Legislative Process Endures VirtuallyThe General Assembly's 2nd week back to work continued with virtual committee meetings, presentations on transportation funding, health care, and broadband expansion. As we emerge slowly from the grips of COVID the legislative process is adapting. The requirement for the business community voices to be heard becomes challenging but through the historical relationships and effectiveness of the NCLA we are happy to be included in important discussions. Bennet, Neguse, Hickenlooper and Buck Meet with NCLA on Federal InfrastructureLast week, the NCLA engaged in a live meeting with US Senator Michael Bennet and Congressman Joe Neguse alongside the Offices of US Senator John Hickenlooper and Congressman Ken Buck on Friday, February 26. where each shared insights and joined in a dialogue about the future of a federal Infrastructure stimulus package. This was a timely event on the heels of US Senate Environment and Public Works Committee hearing on President Biden’s $2T Build Back Better Infrastructure plan. In response to questions of improving Colorado’s position in the allocation of any future funding, the Senator and Congressman encouraged a coalition approach with other similarly situated growing western states and their US Senators. All noted how critical investments are as proven job creators and economic stimulators.
