Loveland, Colorado, is often referred to as America’s “Sweetheart City” and is located 45 miles north of Denver.

Just a short drive west of the city is the Big Thompson Canyon and Rocky Mountain National Park. Because of the close proximity, it is also nationally known for being the “gateway to the Rockies”.

Loveland, long known as the “gateway to the Rockies,” is a great place to stay before you head up to Rocky Mountain National Park. With an array of lodging options ranging from: the high end hotel & spa, to a rustic cabin along the river, to a (dude) guest ranch, and the many camping and RV options, you are certain to find something to meet your needs.

You will find a small town atmosphere featuring a locally owned restaurant scene, vibrant brewing community, unique retail stores, and many art galleries that make up this dynamic artisan district. Downtown Loveland is the perfect place to love being a local.

The Marketplace

Also on the west side of I-25 is the Marketplace at Centerra featuring a large selection of stores as well, like Target, Old Navy and JoAnn’s. And with over a dozen eating establishments their are certainly plenty of places to get a meal, such as Chick-fil-A, Panera Bread, In-N-Out Burger, Buffalo Wild Wings and Old Chicago.

The Promenade Shops

The newest shopping experience in Loveland is The Promenade Shops at Centerra, just east of I-25 at Highway 34 (exit 257-A). Stores like Macy’s, Best Buy and Dick’s Sporting Goods are just a few of the many you will find at the outside shopping mall. You will also find a fabulous selection of restaurants from the casual elegance of the locally owned Bent Fork to the more established franchises like Red Robin. The Metrolux 14 theaters are also located at The Promenade. Amenities include fountains, an ice skating rink, a children’s play area, a central meeting area, sculpture park and nature trails, outdoor seating, and plentiful landscaping.

The Motorplex

Located at I-25 and Crossroads Blvd. is The Motorplex at Centerra, the region’s original master-planned auto park. With more than 100 acres of retail space for dealers who represent the top auto marquees, the upscale center will be the largest gathering of auto dealers in northern Colorado. Current dealers include Co’s BMW, Davidson Chevrolet, King Buick Pontiac-GMC, L2 Auto, and Subaru of Loveland.

And just across the street is Thunder Mountain Harley-Davidson and the offices for five of Northern Colorado’s Clear Channel radio stations with their outdoor Thunder Mountain Amphitheater hosting acts like acts like, “Blues Traveler”, “Boys Like Girls”, and “The Charlie Daniels Band”. The Thunder Mountain Amphitheater is probably best known nationally for for hosting Thunder in the Rockies.

Located around Loveland are several more shopping centers like Orchards Shopping Center, Thompson Valley Towne Center and the Columbine Shopping Center.
Loveland is also home to national stores: Sam’s Membership Warehouse, two Wal-Mart Superstores, Kmart, Home Depot, Lowe’s, three Walgreen’s stores, Office Depot, Sportsmen’s Warehouse, Pier 1 Imports, Pet Smart, The UPS Stores, and much more.

Loveland is nestled in a lush valley at the entrance to the Big Thompson Canyon and is known as the “gateway to the Rockies.” Dotted in and around the city and surrounding areas are an abundance of scenic lakes, parks, trails and recreational areas. Loveland’s lakes, rivers and streams provide for swimming, water skiing, rafting, boating, fishing and other water sports. Loveland’s mountains provide ample opportunities for hiking, biking, and horseback riding.
