YOUNG REALTORS TAKE ‘ROOKIE OF THE YEAR,’ TOP HONORS
Longtime partner Ralph Waldo also received the Distinguished Service Award.
FT. COLLINS, COLO. (Feb. 5, 2013) — Three realtors from The Group, Inc., one of Colorado’s most innovative and successful real estate companies, were named the area’s top young professionals, and a fourth earned a distinguished service award at the Fort Collins Board of Realtors’ annual Holiday Awards Thursday, Nov. 15.
Maegan Batson Duggar, was named the board’s sole “Rookie of the Year” and a finalist for “Young Professional of the Year.” Kathleen Hollerbach, was named a finalist for Rookie of the Year, and Lane Everitt, a finalist for Young Professional of the Year.
Ralph Waldo, a member of The Group, Inc., since 1981, received FCBR’s Distinguished Service Award for more than 35 years of outstanding work as a realtor in northern Colorado.
“We are all thrilled to have earned these recognitions from the Board of Realtors,” Duggar said. “It’s been a lot of long hours and hard work, all geared toward helping our clients find their dream homes and ideal offices. It’s great to get this award in the process.”
The board selects a rookie of the year based on five criteria: sales sizes, sales volumes, community involvement, education and association involvement. Duggar and Hollerbach were two of only six people to be nominated for the distinction.
Duggar, who is involved in the United Way, Respite Care, and Habitat for Humanity, “is a very deserving recipient of this award and Fort Collins can expect a lot more from this young up and comer in the years ahead,” the board said.
The Young Professionals Award is presented to realtors under the age of 40. Duggar and Everitt were two of seven people to be named finalists.
Waldo was the only realtor to be recognized for distinguished service. The FCBR called his commitment to area real estate issues “impeccable.”
“No one personifies this award more than Waldo, who has been involved from the local to national levels… in addition to being a key economic and advocacy leader within Fort Collins for several decades,” the FCBR said on its website.
Waldo has served as FCBR’s liaison to the Northern Colorado Economic Development Corporation and to the area’s congressional representatives. He has also held multiple leadership positions within FCBR.
“All four of these realtors exemplify what we strive to accomplish everyday at The Group, Inc.,” CEO and president Eric Thompson said. “They go the extra mile for their clients, they know the real estate market like the back of their hands, and when they’re not here working, they’re donating huge amounts of time to local charities and giving back to our community. We look forward to having them with us at The Group for years to come.”
