Called the “Loveland Community Day of Dance for Your Health,” the event will be held on Saturday, April 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Loveland High School gymnasium, 920 W. 29th St. The event will offer demonstrations in dance, martial arts and yoga in addition to vendors, health education and selected health screenings.
Hosted by McKee Medical Center and sponsored by the City of Loveland, Loveland Reporter-Herald and Larimer County Medical Society, the health fair has served as an important community wellness event for more than 30 years. The new format reflects a desire to better meet the needs of today’s consumers who are interested in a more holistic approach to wellness centering on healthy lifestyle changes related to diet and exercise.
The North Colorado Medical Center Spirit of Women program hosted a Day of Dance family event in Greeley on March 7 that drew more than 2,500 attendees.
“The health fair changes are an example of our on-going effort to improve how we deliver high quality services in a dynamic healthcare environment,” said Sheryl Fahrenbruch, Spirit of Women, Outreach Program Manager. “We hope that by focusing on movement and exercise we can offer an event that is fun for the whole family.”
This free, family-friendly community event will feature a Dr. Seuss theme that celebrates the beloved character’s birthday and includes children’s activities, interactive booths, games, giveaways and more. As part of the new health fair changes, blood draws will not be provided in connection with the event, but will instead be provided the first Wednesday of every month at the McKee Conference and Wellness Center, 2000 N. Boise Ave. A variety of screenings are available, including the popular E24 Health Fair Panel for $35. It includes a lipid panel, triglycerides, glucose, thyroid, iron, liver/kidney/heart function and electrolytes.
