Since the 1970's, Loveland, Colorado has been a mecca for artists and Loveland's affection for art is evident everywhere. Throughout the city you'll find sculpture, galleries, public works creatively decorated and even large walls with beautifully painted murals.
Sculpture may have put Loveland on the map, but a visit to Loveland will reward you with a variety of mediums to enjoy and appreciate. Art has certainly become a part of Loveland's heritage. In 2005, John Villani, published his fourth edition of "The 100 Best Art Towns in America" and named Loveland as the number two town, only behind Santa Fe, NM. Loveland: A City with HeART
Although Loveland is rapidly growing in reputation as an arts community, it has been recognized for many decades as the "Sweetheart City" thanks to the infamous Valentine Re-mailing Program. Visitors have always delighted seeing the traditional heart shaped signs posted throughout the city thanks to the Rotary Club of Loveland.
Today visitors to Loveland can find hearts throughout the city regardless of the time of year thanks to our friends at E.L.Events. In 2007 E. L. Events (formerly Engaging Loveland) began a project called Loveland: A City with HeART™ that creates monumental hearts made of fiberglass and stand five feet tall and four and a half feet wide. Each heart is individually designed and painted by local Loveland artists with businesses and individuals sponsoring a heart of their selection.
Today you will find 18 of these hearts displayed around town including one at the entrance of the Chamber and Visitors Center. Be sure to stop by to see our heart and to pick up a brochure and map of the other hearts in the community.
