Loveland-based real estate company marks 20 years with new name & location

By Kelly K. Serrano, BizSpeak

LC Real Estate Group

LOVELAND, CO – The partners of Loveland Commercial, LLC, are marking the company’s 20th anniversary with two major changes: a new name – LC Real Estate Group, LLC – and a move to the heart of Loveland.

The name change will lead to better recognition that Loveland Commercial and the former Midtown Homes are regional players and part of the same company, says Nathan Klein, partner and commercial brokerage manager. Midtown Homes, a home-building company LC Real Estate Group partners founded in 2009, is now LC Home.  “We are certainly not just Loveland, and not just commercial; the new name is recognition of the true breadth of what our company has become, while still acknowledging that tremendous ‘LC’ history,” he says.

Formerly located in the Thompson Valley Towne Center at 1043 Eagle Dr., an LC development sold in 2014, LC Real Estate Group moved in early March into a 28,000-square-foot building it acquired and refurbished at 1712 Topaz Dr., off U.S. 34/East Eisenhower Boulevard. The integrated real estate company now occupies 4,000 square feet of the building. Before moving in, the company completely renovated the building, with the final parking lot and landscaping upgrades coming this spring.

The new address gives LC Real Estate Group a significant presence in the center of town, visible from East Eisenhower, and offers a higher quality and more efficient space. And, whereas the company’s 21 partners and employees were spread out in different offices at the former location, they are all centralized in the new building.

“We just moved but it’s been tremendous,” says Eric Holsapple, cofounder and partner. “It’s been a lot easier to work and collaborate. We have space, privacy and a conference facility where we can collaborate; that’s so important for our business.

“We are still a Loveland based company, but clearly a regional player in the marketplace, and this move signifies that evolution.”

Eric Holsapple founded Loveland Commercial, LLC, with Don Marostica in 1996, after he and Marostica purchased Moore Commercial. They changed the name and eventually brought on Blaine Rappe in 1997, then Klein in 2004. Klein and Rappe purchased Marostica’s interest in the company when he retired in 2012, although he is still a major investor with the company.  Today Wayne Lewis, Nick Galluzzo and Rollin Goering are also partners with the firm.

A few of LC Real Estate Group and its partners’ accomplishments over the last two decades include:

  • Developing two King Soopers Shopping Centers, one in Loveland and one in Fort Collins;
  • Developing more than 2,500 residential lots, primarily in Northern Colorado and including two affordable housing subdivisions in Loveland;
  • Approaching construction of 500 homes including current projects in Greeley’s Fox Run, Loveland’s Tulip Creek and Fort Collins’ Spring Creek;
  • Donating $1.5 million in 2004 to create the Loveland Commercial Endowed Chair in Real Estate in the Colorado State University College of Business’s Everitt Real Estate Center, from which many of its interns and newer partners have come;
  • Holsapple serving as executive director of the Everitt Real Estate Center, where he has taught for 20 years;
  • Expanding investments and developments not only throughout Northern Colorado, but also to the Denver metro area and Colorado Springs.

“It’s a new era for LC Real Estate Group,” Holsapple says. “I’m really excited for the future.”

The partners are planning an open house and Loveland Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting to celebrate their company’s new name, location and 20th anniversary this summer.
