The Group Inc

FORT COLLINS, COLO. (February 20, 2013) — Eric Thompson, CEO and president of The Group, Inc., one of Colorado’s most innovative and successful real estate companies, was named president of the Poudre School District Foundation last month.

The foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, finds and brings together resources in the community to spark innovation in teachers and students in the Poudre School District, which serves about 25,000 students at 50 schools in northern Colorado.

“We live in the very same neighborhoods that we serve, and it is so important for us to be active community members by donating time, energy and money to local causes,” Thompson said. “I’m excited to be leading a foundation that will support our students and teachers and make sure the Poudre School District remains among the best school systems in the entire country.”

Thompson, who has served as The Group’s president since 2009, also volunteers as the Vice President of Broker Connections for the Colorado Association of Realtors.

“It’s a great way to meet people and support my neighbors,” Thompson said. “Even a small amount of time volunteering can make a big difference for a lot of people.”

The Group consists nearly 230 owners in five offices in northern Colorado who work together to best serve their customers and communities. The company performed more than 34 percent of all real estate transactions in northern Colorado last year, and it is regularly named one of the country’s Top-200 real estate firms by Real Trends Magazine.
