Connie Giroux, Western States Bank

May 2010 - Featured Monthly Investor

In the Chamber world, an ambassador serves as the viable and visible "goodwill arm" of the Chamber. They are instrumental in the promotion of the Chamber and its members and constantly set a positive stage for the new membership growth and existing membership retention. In short – they are an extension of the Chamber’s public relations team.

Connie Giroux with Western States Bank and the Loveland Chamber’s featured monthly investor for May, is a tried-and-true ambassador.

Giroux’s involvement in the calling program, which reaches out to new investors to make sure they receive everything they need from the chamber has helped her achieve points to be named the Ambassador of the Month for the past three months.

According to Jim Worthen, director of investor services and the head of the Ambassadors Program, “Connie Giroux is always ready to step up to any challenge set forth by the Chamber which makes her a very active and valuable Chamber ambassador. Not only is Connie ready to take on the work load but always does it with a smile. She asks great probing questions to get to the root of any problem they may have and relays that information back to me so the Chamber can address the issues.”

Connie along with her husband John have been long-time Loveland Chamber investors and great supporter of the Chamber’s mission and direction of helping local businesses succeed. Family Mortgage, a company owned and operated by John, donated the public address system the chamber uses for all of its events.

Hear it from Connie:

“I have received many benefits as a result of my Loveland Chamber membership, capitalizing in many ways. Through Western States Bank investment in the chamber, I receive multiple networking opportunities each month, tremendous exposure for me and the bank, new business through the chamber's relocation packages and education and awareness about happenings in the community which are important to the bank and me personally.”

“I find many if not all of the chamber's events and committees’ valuable but Business After Hours and the Ambassador program are my two favorite and most valuable to increase business. If someone was considering joining the chamber I would tell them, "Join, get involved immediately, participate in as many opportunities that the chamber offers you, and volunteer for a committee or event. Your investment of time and capital will be returned many times if you do these things."

“I can’t really point to one particular thing that benefits me the most from my chamber membership. However, the business contacts which I have made and the friendships I have developed are two of the most important benefits which come to mind immediately.”
