Christine Kapperman, Loveland Reporter Herald

January 2012 - Featured Monthly Investor

Christine Kapperman with the Loveland Reporter Herald has seen, heard and reported on many exciting events and opportunities within the city of Loveland for years. She has a keen vision for the community and its businesses and has brought that passion and focus to her various roles with the Loveland Chamber of Commerce. Because of her many contributions through her role on the board of directors, Christine has been recognized as our January 2012 Featured Monthly Investor.

As board chair in 2011, Christine lead the Chamber board of directors during a significant transition in the Chamber’s history – negotiating and turning over the operation and management of the Visitors Center to the city of Loveland. Since 1996 the Loveland Chamber of Commerce has voluntarily managed the Visitors Center, including all marketing, sales, customer service and operation of the self-funded organization. Along with a staff of dedicated volunteers, the Visitors Center has been an important stop for drive-by visitors and those looking to visit Loveland. To manage this, Christine scheduled and attended a number of meetings with City leaders (elected and paid staff) and the Community Marketing Commission. This endeavor was extremely important to the ongoing and continued success of the Loveland Chamber of Commerce.

Christine also led the strategic planning process for 2011 which led to the following new mission statement and vision statements:

  • MISSION:The Loveland Chamber of Commerce mission is to promote business and community prosperity.
  • VISION:We accelerate and sustain business success for our investors through:
    • Connections: Facilitating strategic and effective partnerships for chamber investors and the community, and offering networking opportunities.
    • Visibility:Promoting investor exposure and credibility through marketing, advertising, events, business recognition, and investor and individual participation.
    • Education:Providing educational opportunities and information to assist investors in making strategic and informed decisions.
    • Advocacy: Acting as the collective voice for business on*public policy and economic development decisions at the local and state level.

Christine’s commitment to the board is unwavering. She missed only one board meeting in 2011 only because of a snow storm and major power outage impacting her employer. She also volunteers as often as possible to help the Chamber board. In 2011, she volunteered to assist on every sub-committee (strategic plan, membership drives, new board member orientations, annual dinner, etc.) Additionally, she has been one of the most visible Chamber board chairs in history, encouraging investors to reach out to her directly and engage with the board.

Outside of the board, Christine attends many Chamber functions, including Business After Hours, the Corn Roast Festival and the Annual Investors Dinner every January.

She is committed to seeing the Chamber be a thriving organization and a true community partner for Loveland.
