Bob Skillman, The Group Real Estate

December 2012 - Featured Monthly Investor

Knowing the value of customer service can be a tough skill to learn, but for Bob Skillman with the Group Real Estate, it was his parents’ business that taught him the importance of customer service and hard work.  After working in the public sector for 24 years, Bob decided to increase his focus on customer service and relationships by getting into real estate.  His contributions to Loveland Chamber of Commerce as an ambassador have been plentiful; earning him the recognition as the chamber’s December Featured Monthly Investor.

“I have worked with Bob as a chamber ambassador as well as on the Community Relations Committee with Loveland Berthoud Association of Realtors. Bob is always a team player and willing to help out at chamber events as well as at Realtor events to make sure things go smoothly. Bob is truly an asset to any and all organizations he is associated with,” said Rocci Bryan, vice chairman of the Loveland Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors.

He is dedicated to helping others achieve their dreams and strives to help the chamber. He embraces the opportunities that the chamber provides, such as promoting businesses and strengthening those relationships.

“Bob has proven to be a tremendous asset to the Loveland Chamber of Commerce. His tenacity and optimism assure him as a team leader. His service to this community makes him a treasured asset that would be difficult to ever replace. We at the chamber are proud to have Bob on board with us and look forward to working with him for years to come,” said Mindy McCloughan, CEO of the Loveland Chamber of Commerce.

Hear it From Bob:

How have you capitalized on your Loveland Chamber investment and what has it brought you?

Like all organizations, you only get out of it what you put into it. I have tried to be as active in the Loveland Chamber as my schedule allows me. I am an Ambassador and attend as many functions as possible. By doing so, I am getting to know more and more business owners in the community along with getting reacquainted with those I have known in the past. By doing so, I feel more connected to our business community,  have a better pulse on our local business environment and of course, get a chance to promote my business as a Realtor.

What Chamber events, committees etc. do you find the most valuable?

Being an ambassador has been the most valuable to me by keeping me in the flow of events such as Ribbon Cuttings, Business After Hours and STIR. All have their own value in different ways.

What would you say to someone considering Chamber investment?

Once you join, you need to get involved and stay involved. It is at that point you will start realizing the great benefits of our chamber has to offer. There is no better time than now to join.

What has been the top benefit to you for your chamber involvement?

I have been able to develop great relationships with other investors that has helped me propel my business.

Which events will we see you at in December/January?

I am planning on attending Ribbon Cuttings, Business After Hours and helping with STIR in December and January along with attending the Annual Loveland Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet in January.
