Maryjo Morgan and Fred Richart

Fred's Used Web sites

November 2009 Featured Monthly Investor

When you look in the dictionary to view the description of a Chamber investor, don’t be surprised to see Maryjo Morgan and Fred Richart of Fred’s Used Websites as the given example. Since joining the Loveland Chamber of Commerce, both Fred and Maryjo have been active participants, exemplifying what Chamber investment is all about - networking, sharing and support with and for fellow investors.

Their contribution to the Chamber is no secret to the staff, active investors and members of the Web 2.0 committee. Whether it is electronic or print communication, Fred and Maryjo are heavily involved. The two are active with the Web 2.0 committee, documenting and contributing ideas to grow the committee and the Chamber’s Web 2.0-related marketing efforts. On the print side, Maryjo pens many AWARE articles on a variety of topics and is dedicated to representing the diversity of Chamber investors in her work. According to Nicole Hegg, communications and events manager at the Chamber, the quality of the Chamber’s communication through AWARE has risen with Maryjo’s involvement.

Both are heavily involved in three of the Loveland Chamber’s Leads Groups - B2B Networking, Net Gains and Early Birds. Not only is their participation valued, but they continuously bring new presentation ideas and information to the Leads Group participants - giving back to their fellow Chamber investors.

Even on the back-end, Fred and Maryjo have contributed to several projects that have helped propel the Loveland Chamber - and sponsored programs - to new heights. They donate their time, skills and resources to designing, developing and maintaining the Web site for the newly formed Leadership Northern Colorado, a joint initiative of the Fort Collins, Greeley and Loveland Chambers of Commerce, the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado and the Community Foundation Serving Greeley and Weld County, that focuses on regional issues, regionalism and regional leadership skills.

Additionally, both Fred and Maryjo proactively provide feedback to the Loveland Chamber regarding changes in communication and resources. Most recently, they have facilitated corrections of the new Loveland Chamber Web site and have agreed to be ‘testers’ for new features including online registration, updating member business directory information and general navigation.

Loveland Chamber CEO Brian Willms notes that Fred and Maryjo are excellent examples of what Chamber involvement is all about, asking not what the Chamber can do for them, but what they can do for the Chamber in order to benefit everyone involved.
