Nicole Point, U.S. Bank

September 2010 - Featured Monthly Investor

The future of Loveland business and community resides in the skills, vision and follow-through of Loveland’s up-and-comers. While youth play an important role, Loveland’s young professionals are on the cusp of taking Loveland to the next level. Leading this group of fearless individuals and business professionals is Nicole Point, mortgage loan officer with U.S. Bank and chair for STIR Loveland young professionals, which launched in March 2009.

Point’s professionalism and drive match those of leaders and professionals well beyond her years. Her task-oriented nature and go-get ‘em attitude ensures that the overarching vision for the group is realized. Point is the right person for the job for all things necessary to make a difference.

“Nicole was one of the first people we turned to when creating the Loveland Chamber of Commerce’s young professionals group STIR. Her reputation through her work at U.S. Bank stood out from the get-go and she has proven to be a key player in the group. She is driven, both goal and vision oriented and showed great initiative to get STIR up and running. Even since the start of STIR Nicole has grown into an exceptional leader and someone that the steering committee can truly count on. Nicole has been able to outline the roadmap for STIR and is the person who can help individuals find what they need to get to their final destination,” said Brian Willms, president and CEO of the Loveland Chamber of Commerce.

In addition to her key role with STIR, Point has been involved with the Loveland Chamber Ambassadors. The Chamber’s Ambassador and STIR liaison Nicole Hegg recognizes Nicole’s commitment to both. “Ideas get realized when Nicole Point is involved. She has the unique ability to truly understand an organizations vision and tackle the details in order to get things done effectively. The steering committee would agree that Nicole has been an integral part in driving STIR’s momentum forward. On the Ambassadors side, Nicole is one who recognizes the absolute value that comes from being an Ambassador and uniquely blends being a young professional into the Chamber environment. She takes value in the Chamber aside from STIR and vice versa.”

Aspen Dawson, with Dawson Chiropractic & Wellness Center and fellow STIR founder notes, “Nicole Point goes above and beyond to help others succeed and this is evident in her roles as a Loveland Chamber Ambassador and Chair of Stir. Nicole has played an integral role in pioneering Stir Loveland and making it a success. She devotes a great amount of time to both of these roles and is committed to enhancing them anyway she can.”

Hear it from Nicole

How have you capitalized on your Loveland Chamber investment and what has it brought you? I was with the Ambassador program for 2 1/2 years and am currently chair of Stir Loveland, the Chamber's young professional's group. I feel like taking leadership roles and positions of responsibility in the Chamber has allowed me to quickly make more connections and become a valued part of the group. This has in turn brought me more business!

What Chamber events, committees etc. do you find the most valuable?
I like Business After Hours and Stir events.

What would you say to someone considering Chamber investment? You can get a solid footing in the community by taking advantage of the Chamber's opportunities. It is a welcoming and nourishing environment for someone looking to grow in their business and in their community. There is no other place I would turn to when looking to grow my business or choose where to take my own business. The Loveland Chamber is the best in Loveland and northern Colorado for networking, business development, advocacy and educational opportunities. They make a great effort to appeal to all audiences through the work they do.

What has been the top benefit to you for your chamber involvement?
I have been able to advance in my career into a position that I lacked experience in due to my networking abilities and connections I had made through the Chamber!

Which events will we see you in September/October?
Stir Speed Networking, October Business After Hours, and possibly a Business Before Hours, Stir's October mixer at Art Lab downtown.
