Dancing With the Stars Fundraiser
to Support Loveland’s Business Flood Relief Fund

100% of net proceeds from Feb. 22, 2014 event to directly benefit business flood recovery

DANCING WITH THE STARS FUNDRAISER TO SUPPORT LOVELAND’S BUSINESS FLOOD RELIEF FUND All proceeds from Feb. 22, 2014 event to directly benefit business flood recovery

The Loveland Chamber of Commerce, the driving force of business for Loveland will host Dancing With the Stars From the Heart, a fundraising gala slated for 6 p.m., Feb. 22, 2014 at Embassy Suites. 100 percent of the event proceeds will go directly into the Business Flood Relief Fund, which will help fund business recovery efforts for affected businesses that apply through a grant process.

 

The chamber’s Dancing With the Stars gala will become an annual chamber event. The event is a black tie affair complete with dinner, silent auction, live auction and dancing. The inaugural gala is co-produced by the 2013-2014 Leadership Loveland class as its class project. Sponsorship opportunities are currently available and tickets will be on sale in January for $100/person.

 

“We have been looking to implement the Dancing With the Stars gala for a while now. With the support of our Leadership Loveland class and the community need for additional resources and funding to support flood recovery efforts, we couldn’t think of a better time or better cause to support as we launch the inaugural event,” said Mindy McCloughan, president of the Loveland Chamber of Commerce.

 

The event will feature six local celebrities, each who have already been paired with a professional dancer to prepare for the event: Mary McCambridgeHome State Bank; Betsey HaleCity of Loveland; Chef ClayMo ‘Betta Gumbo; Paul MatthewsBanner Health, McKee Medical Center;  Fred LiskeAmerican Eagle Distributing Co. and Leah JohnsonJD Consulting. Corey Rose, 9NEWS morning show reporter/anchor, has already signed on as one of the master of ceremonies.

 

Each dancer will perform two different choreographed routines (Latin and Smooth each 1.5 to 2 minutes long) throughout the evening, i.e., fox trout, swing, tango, samba, jive, etc. and they will also collaborate for a group performance. Leading up to the event, each dancer will spend 25 hours on instruction and choreography.
